Facts
Understanding facts and personal identifying information in AllDrafts.
AllDrafts identifies many facts (including most PII -- personal identifiable information) and lists them in the Facts / PII panel.
This panel provides a list of all the facts in the document and can be useful in reviewing the document to ensure there are no errors or left over data from a copy-and-paste operation.
When you hover the mouse over a fact a dotted underline is shown, and right-clicking on a fact offers the option of changing a fact or converting the fact to a field.
Facts Are Specific Instances
When you select a defined term in the Terms panel, every instance of that term is highlighted. When you select a fact from the Facts / PII panel only a single instance is highlighted, because while '30 days' may appear multiple times in a document, each occurrence may be for a different purpose and have a different meaning.
Facts are context-specific.
Changing a Fact
If you choose to change a fact you are shown a mini redline of the change. You are also shown any other instances of facts with the same value -- regardless of their format -- in case you want to change all of them. In the example below it is likely that the user would want to select the other two instances of September 16, 2011 and change them all to the same value.
By default ony the instance selected is checked to be changed; to change the others simply check the selection box before clicking the Change button.
You can change the format of a fact while changing its value (or just change the format without changing the value). The Format drop-down lets you choose from multiple formats.
